A classic Rolex staple; The Datejust. The more interesting element to the watch is that the stainless steel is paired with the much less common 18 carat pink gold. The same is true for the hour markers and the hands. The watch is powered by the Rolex workhorse automatic movement; caliber 1570. This movement powered most of the iconic Rolex sports watches of the time such as the GMT and Submariner. The watch is in original condition with light wear to the case. The silvered pie pan dial is also untouched, and in excellent condition. It is set with stunning pink gold markers set on each hour, bar the three o'clock where the date window sits. The pink gold Rolex baton hands are missing part of the lume portion, but does not detract form the overall appearance. The case holds strong, legible model number 1601, and serial number 2307xxx, dating it to 1967. The case back is also date stamped and marked 1601, and has 1969 III for the third quarter of that year. It is not unusual that these years do not match exactly, as they were finally assembled often at different times of production. The case measures 36mm x 44mm. The watch comes in a Foundwell presentation box, certificate of authenticity from Foundwell, as well as a year warranty against mechanical failure.
