Following World War II, A. Lange & Sohne was nationalized and shut down in 1948. Following the reunification of Germany in the early 1990s, the founders great grandson relaunched the company. Among the first models produced was this A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia, ref. 102.001. These early Saxonia examples are a bit smaller than the modern Lange watches and feature a large date window, center sub-seconds and solid casebacks. Many design elements that we see in todays examples are quite clear in these early references. This example comes with the original warranty and was recently serviced by A. Lange & Sohne.
